Further European expansion for Cleveland Scott York - National German Patent, Design and Utility Model Services

Following on from the success of CSY Europe which was set up several years ago predominantly to deal with post-Brexit, EU trade mark operations, the partners of Cleveland Scott York LLP are delighted to announce further expansion in continental Europe with the addition of CSY Germany to the business.  Based primarily in Munich, the new venture adds German national patent, design and utility model capability  at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office to the portfolio of CSY services.

The partners are also pleased to welcome Michael Schmid and Sharon Jie Zhao as consultants.  Both are qualified European Patent Attorneys and US Patent Agents, while Michael is also a German Patent Attorney and Sharon a Chinese Patent Attorney.

Andrew Mackenzie who has previously worked for an IP firm in Munich and handles a notable volume of  German national patent filings, commented that “he is delighted with progress on our European expansion plans. Bringing our German national patent capability directly in-house is a significant step forward, particularly in the mechanical and automotive fields in which I work.”

Sharon Zhao added: “Michael and I have been working with the attorneys at Cleveland Scott York, and CSY Europe, for some time already, so it is great to be able to formalise our working relationship to the benefit of our mutual clients.”
