Favourite restaurant
Bombay Bustle – located in Maddox Street Mayfair, this restaurant serves excellent authentic Indian food in a stylish space. There’s always a buzzy atmosphere and a choice of dishes that you don’t find in a regular British curry house.

Favourite London attraction
The Churchill War Rooms. Fascinating subterranean location from where Winston Churchill masterminded his strategy in the Second World War. This secret underground headquarters remains virtually unchanged from those dark wartime years and is a remarkable window back to that time.

Top London tip
Go and have afternoon tea in London’s world famous department store, Fortnum & Mason at 181 Piccadilly in London W1, and if you don’t have time for that, drop in and buy some tea to take home.

Favourite restaurant
Andrew Edmunds: it’s “old Soho”, has a great wine selection and seasonal menu – just make sure to book ahead!

Top London tip
A trip using all (or nearly all) the different forms of transport in London…

  • From Embankment Pier get the river boat to Greenwich Pier – this passes lots of great attractions on the River, including views of the City, St. Paul’s, Tower of London, Tate Britain, HMS Belfast and more….then when you get to Greenwich, that is a pretty great place – the Cutty Sark is there plus the Observatory and you can stand on the IDL.
  • When you’ve had enough of Greenwich, you can jump on another ferry (or bus) from Greenwich Pier to North Greenwich Pier.
  • From North Greenwich Pier, head to IFS Cloud Greenwich Peninsula where you can take the cable car to Royal Victoria Docks.
  • Once at Royal Victoria Docks, you have to take the DLR to Canning Town Station.
  • From Canning Town Station, you can get the Tube to wherever you need to go!

It’s a great trip, and the cable car ride is fun.

The British Library – rotating permanent exhibition includes items such as The Beatles’ lyrics scribbled on a napkin, handwritten manuscripts of famous symphonies (Beethoven even wrote musical notation angrily) and the Magna Carta.

Top London tip
Never change at Bank or Green Park tube stations if it can be avoided – otherwise you have a long walk ahead of you.

Favourite restaurant
This is a tough one as the options are never ending – but I will choose Le Relais de Venise as I love a steak and the restaurant is a unique experience.

Favourite London attraction
The Tower of London. You can’t beat a good castle, and they have the Crown Jewels as well.

Top London tip
If you have to cross the city to get to a meeting and are not in a huge rush, take the Thames Clipper (a.k.a. the River Bus). The historic architecture looks lovely from the river and Millbank Pier to Canary Wharf Pier will take you past the Houses of Parliament and the Tower of London and you will go under London Bridge and Tower Bridge. It also has an onboard café / bar!

Noble Rot – a bit pricey, but it has an almost unending selection of wines by the glass, delicious food, and a relaxed vibe.

Favourite London attraction
Fullers Brewery Tour – The guides have amazing knowledge of the history of the brewery and, as a bonus, the brewery is home to the oldest wisteria plant in the UK (planted in 1816).

Top London tip
For Harry Potter fans, make a quick stop at King’s Cross Station, where there is an opportunity to be photographed heading to the famous Platform 9¾ (queues are possible on busy days, but they move fast) and a wonderful Harry Potter gift shop.
