Patent attorneys at a UK-based intellectual property law firm have been praised as “fizzing with technical brilliance and commercial nous” by the latest edition of the IAM Patents 1000, a prestigious guide to the world’s top patent professionals.

The 2018 edition of the guide sees Cleveland Scott York once again recommended for its patents practice, with Partner Tom Faulkner joining colleagues, Dr Adrian Bradley, Fraser Brown and Andrew Mackenzie in receiving an individual recommendation this year.

Tom Faulkner, based at the firm’s City of London offices, is featured alongside a client quote recommending him on the basis that “there is no one better at drafting patent applications for difficult-to-understand technology”.

Dr Adrian Bradley, based at the firm’s Thames Valley offices, is described as “the most famous member of the practice” and “a favourite among pharmaceutical titans”.

Meanwhile, Fraser Brown and Andrew Mackenzie, Partners at the firm’s City of London and Hertfordshire offices respectively, are praised for their “wealth of experience getting problematic applications past EPO examiners and handling knotty opposition and appeal proceedings.”

Dr Adrian Bradley said: “We put a great deal of effort into ensuring that each of our clients receives a personal level of service from a senior professional with a high level of expertise in the sector in which they operate.

“It is wonderful that these efforts have been recognised once again by the IAM Patents 1000 with individual and firm-wide recommendations.”

This latest endorsement for the firm comes shortly after it was recommended for both its patent and trade mark practices by the latest edition of the prestigious Legal 500 guide to the legal sector.
