A Partner at a leading firm of intellectual property (IP) specialists is helping delegates at a major global conference use their IP to create new opportunities.

Dr Adrian Bradley, a Partner and Chartered Patent Attorney at Cleveland Scott York, which has offices in the City of London, St Albans, Reading and Brussels, presented on ‘How IP Creates Opportunities and Opens Doors’ at the conference in Bangalore on Wednesday 24 January 2018.

The Global Intellectual Property Convention (GIPC) is one of Asia’s top annual conferences for in-house IP counsel, as well as IP attorneys from around the world, with opportunities to discuss best practice and ways to maximise the value of their IP.

This year, 450 participants from 32 countries are attending 24 different sessions on a variety of aspects of IP. More than two thousand delegates from more than 50 countries have participated since 2009.

Dr Bradley said: “For almost all businesses around the world, intellectual property is crucial to their long-term commercial success.

“Whether it is a trade mark protecting a brand name from imitation by a rival or a patent meaning that time, money and effort invested in a new product does not benefit a competitor, intellectual property is commercially vital.

“Using that portfolio of intellectual property skilfully and cost-effectively can unlock further benefits in terms of new revenue streams and new opportunities, but it is not always obvious how that can be achieved.

“I was delighted to be able to present at the conference and I am pleased that delegates found this helpful.”

Attorneys from Cleveland Scott York regularly attend events around the world, presenting on a range of IP matters.
