Andy qualified as a trade mark attorney in 2009 and has experience in the full range of trade mark clearance, filing and prosecution work as well as in the contentious areas of oppositions and infringements.
He enjoys the wide variety of his work which has led to him researching many unexpected topics, including heraldic seals, wine bottle design shapes and edible underwear.
Some of Andy’s recent highlights include commencing infringement proceedings against a counterfeiter, filing and prosecuting a comprehensive international trade mark portfolio for a new fashion brand, successfully demonstrating to the UKIPO that a client’s three-dimensional trade mark had acquired distinctiveness through use and recovering the .co.uk domain name of a US restaurant chain from a cyber-squatter.
Andy regularly gives lectures and seminars on domain name disputes and trade mark law.
Andrew is the author of ‘A Practical Guide to the Law of Domain Names and Cybersquatting’, published by Law Brief Publishing.
