Waseem joined Cleveland Scott York in 2018, qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2023, and is currently training to qualify as a Chartered Patent Attorney. He works in the Electronics, Engineering and Software practice, with experience across a wide range of technical areas, including automotive systems, subsea umbilical assemblies, and software applications, in addition to general mechanical and electronic devices. He works closely with Andrew Mackenzie, helping to prepare and file patent applications, and assists on prosecution before the UK Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office.
Waseem has a first class master’s degree in Electronics and Nanotechnology from the University of Leeds, giving him a strong understanding of the science behind a wide range of technologies. His final year project involved the design and simulation of germanium membrane structures for integration as an efficient laser diode with a silicon photonics platform. This led to his results being showcased at the renowned research conference SPIE Photonics Europe.
